Dentistry 1865-2000
Museum Treasures
by Penny Eggen
The oldest tool in the “Dentistry 1865-2000” collection on the wall is placed in the top middle row. It is pre-Civil War and has a hook that fits around the tooth. It is twisted to loosen the tooth for pulling. It took no education to be a dentist. If you had a pair of pliers, that's all you needed.
The collection was put together by Dr. Thielges and Dr. Zarybnisky.
